The British Library has a fantastic online exhibition showing some of the best newspaper front pages that appeared during the 100 years from 1906. There are pages covering everything from the General Strike in 1926 to Hitler's Death in 1945 and the Brighton Bomb in 1984. It makes compelling reading - have a look at http://www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/features/frontpage/memorable.html
